Originally built as a 17th century 2-over-2 with carved ovolo moldings decorating its massive summer beams. Later, in 1724, the building was expanded to become a full center chimney. This early structure featured original shadow molding, pit-sawn sheathing and leaded casement windows. This building , slated for demolition, was carefully dismantled and the original timbers were restored using state-of-the art epoxy recasting techniques. This building currently resides by the ocean side on Shelter Island, LI, fully restored to its original splendor.
